Radu Sora, PhD
Principal Consultant
I am an experienced technology leader with over 20 years of experience in companies from UK, Silicon Valley, and Nordics. I love working hands-on with technology, close to the product team, in order to bridge the gap between the business and technical worlds. I have led teams and have been the highest technical decision maker, and am able to motivate other team members through authenticity and transparency. I have an entrepreneurial mindset that helps me approach problems that don’t necessarily have a documented solution, and am thriving when challenged with complex situations.
I have a preference for fast-paced environments and have good experience in performing in such setups having been previously contributing to companies funded by large venture capital funds like Sequoia and Oak Investment Partners. In terms of market verticals, I have first-hand experience of media analytics, consumer insights, low latency trading, compliance, ad-tech, and financial services.
In addition to my work experience, I also received a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Warwick for work related to inferring people’s interests based on their media consumption. This allows me to easily navigate the spectrum between engineering and science, focusing on pragmatic ways of applying science for business gain.
From an early age, I lived and worked across a multitude of cultures that provided me with a nuanced perspective on how diversity is a huge enabler for innovation. This also allows me to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. In terms of personality, I am a highly curious, internally driven, independent thinker. I believe strongly in a culture based on continuous learning and personal responsibility. In my free time, I like to explore vaguely random topics in detail that seem interesting at the time. I found that in many instances knowledge from other disciplines is very helpful at solving seemingly unrelated problems.
